The 2025–26 Malaysia Super League (Malay: Liga Super Malaysia 2025–26) is the 22nd season of the Malaysia Super League, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia since its establishment in 2004, and the 44th season of the top-flight Malaysian football overall.
Johor Darul Ta'zim are the defending champions having won their record 11th Super League title in the previous season.[1]
Teams
Changes from the previous season
A total of thirteen teams contest the league, including ten from the 2024–25 season, two promoted from the A1 Semi-Pro League and one invited team. Kedah Darul Aman and Perak were expelled following financial difficulties.[2][3] Two teams promoted from the A1 Semi-Pro League, Melaka and Immigration, are debuting in the Super League.[4][5] Meanwhile, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) announced that the Brunei-based DPMM FC will compete in the new Super League season,[4] after receiving approval from FIFA to participate in Malaysia’s professional league.[6] On 20 June, Sri Pahang have officially withdrawn from the 2025–26 season, despite being granted a national licence by the MFL.[7] The club submitted a formal letter dated 16 June, stating their decision not to participate in the new campaign, which kicks off on 8 August 2025.[8] Kelantan Darul Naim changed the name to Kelantan The Real Warriors for this season.

Foreign players
The Malaysian Football League (MFL) announced the increased amount of foreign players quota to fifteen.[4] Seven import players allowed on the pitch must consist of four open, one Asian, and two ASEAN players.[4] On 9 July 2025, the MFL announced reducing the number of foreign players allowed on the pitch to six.[11] The revised foreign player quota will now be 6+3 (substitutes), with a composition of four open, one Asian and one ASEAN player.
