The State of Vietnam[a] competed as Vietnam in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. It was the first time the nation had participated at the Summer Olympic Games. Eight competitors, all men, took part in seven events in five sports.[2]

Notes
- ^ The State of Vietnam was an associated state within the French Union, established in 1949 when the French colonialists unified the directly administered Cochinchina with the protectorates of Tonkin and Annam. It gained the full independence in June 1954. During the Vietnamese division from July 1954 to 1975, in the South, the State of Vietnam became the Republic of Vietnam and continued to represent "Vietnam" to join the next few Summer Olympics before its fall.[1]
