Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language coming-of-age comedy film directed by Savin SA, written and co-written by Vipin Das.[1] The film serves as a sequel to Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys (2024) and continues the story of Hashir and his friends.[2][3]

Production
Development
In August 2024, writer Vipin Das officially announced a sequel to Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys, following the commercial success and positive reception of the first film. The sequel was titled Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros.[4] According to Das, the second film expands the universe of the original while retaining its core characters and tone.[5] The announcement was accompanied by a first-look poster featuring Hashir and the returning ensemble cast.[6][7]
Casting
Hashir reprises his role from the first film. In April 2025, filmmaker Alphonse Puthren was announced as part of the cast, marking his acting debut in a supporting role. The makers stated that the sequel features both returning characters and new additions, with the cast largely consisting of young actors.[8][9]
Filming
The film was officially launched in April 2025. Principal photography began shortly thereafter in Ernakulam.[10][11] The makers released a glimpse from the film in August 2025, confirming that the characters would be portrayed as school students, similar to the original film’s setting.[12] The film also had brief schedules in UAE and Georgia.[13]
Filming concluded in November 2025 after a 115 days of shooting. The makers announced the wrap through social media, celebrating the completion of production. [14][15]
Marketing
On the first anniversary of Vaazha, the makers released a special glimpse teasing the sequel.[16] On 2 January 2025, first look of the film released.[17]
Release
Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros is scheduled to release on 2 April 2026, as Summer vacation release clashing with Drishyam 3.[18][19]
