Kawala (band)
Kawala, also spelled KAWALA, are an English rock band from London,[1][2] formed in 2014 as an acoustic duo by Jim Higson and Daniel McCarthy[3] and is not to be confused with the 1990s dance band featuring Terry Mynott of the same name, even though that Kawala supported Faithless. They currently consist of Higson, McCarthy, Ben Batten (drums), Dan Lee (guitar) and Reeve Coulson (bass). They performed at both Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2019 and has also supported George Ezra. English singer Griff co-wrote "Angry Man". They also toured with Bombay Bicycle Club. They released their EP Animals. They released the Kawala Collection in 2025.[4] They released "Chasing/Wasting Time" in 2021.[5] They are described by NME as "the Bombay Bicycle Club-approved indie heroes making bangers without borders".[6]
