Iftikhar Gaga, was a former Pakistani footballer who used to play for the Pakistan national football team during the 1970s. He was also a part of the Pakistan International Airlines FC football team in the 1970s and 80s.
Club career
Iftikhar played for Pakistan Railways, before joining Pakistan Airlines, and representing them for most of his career.[1]
In 1982, Iftikhar travelled with PIA to participate at the 1981–82 Aga Khan Gold Cup held at Dhaka.[2] Although, the team finished in fourth place in the group stage. The team secured a win against Farrer Park United with Iftikhar scoring in the game, helping his team win the match 4–2.[2]
International career
Iftikhar played for the Pakistan national football team from 1971 till 1979.[1]
In 1976, Iftikhar scored a goal against arch-rivals India at the 1976 Afghanistan Republic Day Festival Cup, where the match ended 1–1.[3][4] The same year, he was part of the Pakistan Reds team at the 1976 Quaid-e-Azam International Tournament.[5]
Death
Iftikhar passed away of a stroke on 12 March 2013.[1]
