Brian Muhumuza Bishanga (born 4 August 1993), known professionally as Bryan Morel, is a Ugandan publicist and the founder of BM Publications and the non-profit organization Kyarimpa Cares.[1] He is active in public relations, talent management, and humanitarian initiatives in East Africa.
Early life and education
Bishanga was born in Mbarara, Uganda.[1] He attended Lyakisana Primary School, St. Gonzaga Secondary School Kijjukizo, and Sseke SS High School. He later attended Makerere University, where he obtained a diploma in Project Planning and Management.[1]
Career
Public relations and management
Bishanga began his career in the Ugandan entertainment industry in 2014. He has provided public relations, event coordination, and media liaison services for several Ugandan public figures, including Judith Allen Heard, Jackie Chandiru, Angella Katatumba, Desire Luzinda, and Sheilah Gashumba.[2]
In 2016, he coordinated the Angella Katatumba Mulago Yaffe Charity Concert, which raised funds for the Uganda Cancer Institute. He also facilitated media correspondence for Katatumba’s attendance at international forums, including the United Nations World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul.[2]
He established BM Publications (BMP), a consultancy specializing in brand support, digital content creation, and reputation management for artists and non-governmental organizations.[1]
Youth diplomacy
Bishanga has represented Ugandan interests at international youth forums. In 2022, he participated in the United Nations Best Diplomats Simulation Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.[3]
Humanitarian work
Kyarimpa Cares
In 2021, Bishanga founded Kyarimpa Cares, a non-profit organization focused on social welfare and community engagement.[4] In December 2023, the organization collaborated with musician Rickman Manrick on the "Ndi Muto" charity event, providing food donations to residents in the Bakuli area of Kampala.[5]
In 2025, the organization partnered with the AVSI Foundation and UNHCR in the Game Connect programme, a sports-based mental health intervention at the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Kikuube District.[6]
Environmental advocacy
Bishanga has worked on afforestation initiatives alongside the Judith Heard Foundation. In 2024, he participated in a project with the National Forestry Authority of Uganda to plant over 2,000 tree seedlings at Life 4 Kids Home School in Kitengela, Kenya.[7]
