Braväcovo (until World War II Bravacovo; Hungarian: Baracka) is a village and municipality in Brezno District, in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia.

The municipality lies at an altitude of 610 metres (2,000 ft)^[3] and covers an area of 29.40 km² (11.35 sq mi) (2024).^[4]

The village arose in the 16th century as a settlement within Beňuš. It was founded by German miners and Polish coalmakers. In 1808 it was mentioned as a shepherds colony in the Horehronie Region.

It has a population of 647 people (31 December 2024).^[6]

In year 2021 was 680 people by ethnicity 659 as Slovak, 17 as Not found out, 3 as Czech, 1 as Ukrainian, 1 as Romani, 1 as Moravian and 1 as Hungarian.
